The Southern California Ground Water Basin Educational Simulator was designed by Richard N. Passero and EnVision Environmental Education, LLC. Based on conceptual designs from Inland Empire Utilities Agency. The simulator was designed to educate citizens and municipal officials in southern California, specifically the Chino area, on water use, reuse and recharge. The exhibit is designed as a travelling unit that includes front panel doors that also function as a projection screen, when open. Exhibit includes a custom simulator generally replicating the Chino Basin, a schematic of the water system, simulated desalting unit, multiple contaminant injection points (both liquid and dry feed), simulated high TDS wells, rain bar, stormwater/retention/recharge basins, high quality public wells and more. The exhibit was designed to be run by and operator and allows a strong degree of control over all features of the simulator. Exhibit is approximately 7 feet long x 6 feet high x 3 feet deep. Aprox. 1300 pounds.
Left-side Operator Control Panel. Allows fine control of well pumping rates, dye feed, rain bar and recharge basin rates. Additional controls on right-side panel |
